November 2, 2019

On November 2, 2019, OLD MILL ROAD RECORDING in East Arlington, Vermont will celebrate its one year anniversary with a free, community-wide event: VERMONT WAS CYLINDER DAY. Committed to music education and mentorship, Producer Joshua Sherman and in-house GRAMMY Winning Engineer, Benjamin J. Arrindell believe that understanding the history of music technology is vital to inspiring innovation.

While Thomas Edison is most-often remembered for his invention of the light bulb, he also was responsible for the first audio playback device.

This was the first time in history that people were actually able to hear play-back of their own voices!

In collaboration with 1761 Arts, Thomas Edison National Historical Park, and Audio Engineering Society; Old Mill Road Recording will be hosting a series of demonstrations of Wax Cylinder recording on November 2nd – showcasing this remarkable historical technology!

A full schedule of events will be coming soon…
