On November 2, 2018, Old Mill Road Recording opened its doors. The state-of-the-art destination recording studio is available to musicians worldwide who want to record, mix, and publish their music. In-house GRAMMY® Award-Winning engineer, Ben J. Arrindell has 30+ years of experience recording and mixing for notable artists such as Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, Mary J. Blige, Yolanda Adams, Janet Jackson, and Busta Rhymes, to name a few.

The studio has top-of-the-line equipment, including a 48 channel SSL Duality mixing console, Yamaha C7 Grand Piano, and Griffin Speakers. The control room, live room, and isolation booth have been meticulously designed and tuned by world-renowned architectural acoustic designer Francis Manzella.

Founder and in-house producer Joshua Sherman has produced dozens of tracks featuring Broadway’s greatest talent, including TONY® Award Winners Sutton Foster, Elaine Stritch, Donna McKechnie, Judd Hirsch, Judy Kaye, Jim Dale, Dan Fogler, and Lillias White.

Thoughtfully organized for comfort, flow, and versatility, Old Mill Road Recording is unlike any other studio around. It provides the opportunity to record pristine sound while overlooking a breathtaking river view in the heart of the Green Mountains of Vermont. It is available for recording and mixing local talent, advertising work (Jingles/Commercials), post-production work (Digital media/ TV/Film), and as a destination recording studio for top artists.

In addition to its historic location, state of the art equipment, and luxury design; Old Mill Road Recording offers customized packages for creatives that can include a full range of additional service amenities, such as lodging, photography, video services, indoor and outdoor event spaces, and food services, among others.

“Over the years, Ben and I worked in many of NYC’s biggest studios. We dreamed of creating something different – a luxurious and inviting space that would allow artists to relax, rejuvenate and record without the pressures associated with recording in the city. That dream is now a reality, right here in East Arlington, Vermont.” said Sherman.

Located just 3 hours from New York City and Boston, Arlington has been a destination place - and place of inspiration - for generations.

The studio smartly combines the history of the area with its future. The Gristmill of East Arlington, Vermont was built in 1764 by Remember Baker, who was first cousins with Ethan Allen & Seth Warner. The three cousins formed “The Green Mountain Boys.” They were the leaders of the Revolutionary War in Vermont, and The Mill served as a meeting place for them. The area also has a rich artistic legacy. In the mid-20th Century, Arlington, Vermont and its surrounding towns were home to five Saturday Evening Post illustrators (Norman Rockwell, Mead Schaeffer, Gene Pelham, John Atherton, and George Hughes), the cartoonist Don Trachte, Americana icon Grandma Moses, poet Robert Frost, author/influencer Dorothy Canfield Fisher, composer Carl Ruggles, and fine artist Rockwell Kent.

The recording spaces are bright and welcoming.  They allow musicians to simultaneously enjoy the flowing river view, while maintaining pristine sound isolation.

The studio’s control room, live room, and isolation booth were meticulously designed and tuned by world-renowned architectural acoustic designer Francis Manzella.
